Pest care from homes to trees

Your home deserves a whole team looking after it.

Pest problems rarely respect the line between house and yard. Dr. Eco brings home pest care, tree expertise and plant health care together, with a team that explains what it finds and recommends a clear next step.

Built by the team behind Cascade Tree Works.

Our story

We already cared for the trees. Homeowners asked for more.

At Cascade Tree Works, years of caring for local trees taught us to look beyond the branch in front of us. Insect activity, fungal disease, plant stress and conditions around a home can be connected. Dr. Eco grew from a simple question: what if one team looked at the whole property before recommending care?

That is what puts the “Dr.” in Dr. Eco. An ISA Certified Arborist and a certified pest consultant help assess each property. We look for signs of pest activity, plant diseases and disorders, including issues linked to moisture, soil or growing conditions. Finding concerns early may give us more ways to respond before damage spreads. Your team listens, inspects, explains the findings and coordinates an appropriate plan. We want you to feel looked after, not handed a spray schedule.

Why people call us

What you see at the house may start somewhere else.

A trail of ants at the counter, spiders around the eaves, insects affecting a tree, or moisture under the home can have different causes. Treating one visible spot without asking why it is happening can leave the real problem untouched.

One team connects what is happening in the home with what is happening outside.

Protect the home

Identify entry points, pest activity and conditions that make the structure inviting.

Care for the landscape

Look at the trees and plants near the home when they are relevant to the concern.

Make a sound decision

Understand the findings, the proposed work and what ongoing prevention can and cannot do.

See the connection

Why we look beyond the foundation.

This short illustrated video shows a few real pest pathways. It is a set of examples, not a claim that every insect moves from a home to a tree and back.

One example: ants

  1. Trees and shrubs: Aphids or scale insects can leave honeydew that attracts ants.
  2. Route: Branches touching a building can give ants access.
  3. Home: Openings and food sources can draw them inside.

Other pests behave differently. An inspection identifies the species and conditions before a plan is recommended.

Read the video summary

Hi, I’m Dr. Eco. Let’s look together. A pest at your door may have an outdoor connection. Some ants find food around trees and shrubs, where aphids and scale insects can leave honeydew. Branches touching a house can provide an access route. Boxelder bugs feed on trees and then seek shelter in buildings. Every pest is different. There is no single home-to-tree-to-home cycle. Inspect the home, landscape and entry points before choosing a plan. I put the Dr. in pest control. Let’s take a closer look at your property.

Don’t take our word for it

Follow the evidence.

These findings help explain why an inspection may include both the home and its surroundings.

1/16 inch

Insects and spiders can enter through a gap this small, according to University of Kentucky Extension. Entry-point work matters.

Ants and honeydew

UC Integrated Pest Management explains how aphids and scales on nearby plants can support ant activity and invasion of structures.

Landscape access

The National Pest Management Association recommends keeping branches and foliage away from a house because overhanging vegetation can offer access.

21 studies

A USDA Forest Service meta-analysis examined tree cover and home values across 21 studies. It concerns tree value, not pest-treatment results.

How our approach differs

More than a perimeter visit.

A basic perimeter-only service can be useful. Dr. Eco is built for homeowners who want the house, nearby trees, landscape and related conditions considered together.

Between visitsDepends on provider termsContact the team about qualifying covered activity, subject to your plan terms

This compares two service scopes, not every pest company. Some providers offer broader care. Dr. Eco services, reports and follow-up depend on the selected plan, inspection, licensing and the work needed.

Why quarterly care?

More spraying does not automatically solve a pest problem. Our care follows a cycle: inspect the property, identify the pest and contributing conditions, apply an appropriate treatment, and monitor the results. The right frequency depends on the issue and your plan.

Common questions

A few things to know.

Does a vapor barrier stop pests?

A vapor barrier helps manage ground moisture in a crawl space. It is not a stand-alone pest treatment or a seal against every entry point. We assess moisture, pest activity and access points separately, then recommend appropriate work.

Will both specialists come to my house?

An ISA Certified Arborist and a certified pest consultant guide the care plan. The team members who attend your visit depend on the issue and the work needed. We will explain who is involved when scheduling.

What kinds of pests do you help with?

Common concerns include ants, spiders, earwigs and other household pests. We also discuss specialty issues such as rodents, cockroaches, fleas, bed bugs and mosquitoes. Availability and treatment depend on identification and inspection.

Are treatments safe for children, pets and plants?

We choose products and application methods based on the site and label. Every treatment has specific precautions. We explain those instructions, including any required re-entry time, before service.
